A vintage kitchen for the twins

When the twins were born I always wanted them to have a cool vintage kitchen. All toddlers, particularly girls, love to play with a pretend kitchen and all the plastic food that comes with it.

Around a year ago I was in a vintage shop called Pumpkin in Sale where I came across this cool retro looking cooker and cupboard. I asked the owner how much they were and I was surprised with the answer… £35 for both.

I thought this was a great price and bought it straight away. I have kept it at my parents house ever since and much to my delight Phoebe and Tamsin have started playing with it. Phoebe in particular really likes it and enjoys pretending to eat a corn on the cob whilst cooking some meat on the stove.

The next door neighbours have a little girl called Isabella and she kindly donated some pots, pans, cutlery and lots of plastic food. I think my mum enjoyed setting the kitchen up with the latest donated accessories and she laughed when the twins ran in and messed up all the neatly arranged tins and veg basket!

I have been surprised at how generous people are when it comes to donating toys to the girls. This week a friend of my mum’s gave the twins a pram that her daughter had grown out of.

The girls love to push Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc around in the pram. Monsters Inc is their new favourite Disney film and they now have a Sully outfit each that they love putting on. Their other Disney obsession is Winnie the Pooh. Kids always love Tigger don’t they!
